Library Sessions |
Tuesday after school
|
The library is open every Tuesday from 3.30pm to 4pm for children to borrow a book for 14 days after which it needs to be returned to the library and changed or renewed. Each book has a unique library barcode. Every child has their own code as well so books are scanned in and out of the library. Please do not return library books to the classroom. If you have any queries regarding the library please see Mrs Noad or Mrs Sheppard.

PE Sessions |

Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school. PE bags are sent home every holiday giving parents an opportunity to check that their kit still fits them. PE clothing that is too small restricts the children and is uncomfortable. PE kits should be in school every day as on occasions PE sessions may be rearranged.

Homework |

Children need to be practising their reading and maths skills 5 times a week, with an adult MINIMUM. They should also practise their spellings.
Reading can consist of activities such as Page 99, Tricky Work Window, Dictionary work or answer questions about a section of the text. Maths is in line with their record of achievement in the back of the Home Record Book. Activities such as chanting, quick fire questions, mini quizzes, googling times tables games or free apps found on tablets are great examples of what they could do. There are also links to English and Maths games in the children section of the school website. Some children will receive extra homework to boost their confidence in reading and arithmetic.

Spellings
|
Friday | Spellings for each week are sent home every Friday and are tested the following Friday morning. The spelling folder needs to be brought back in every Friday morning to allow new spellings to go home that afternoon. |
| Reading Books | Every day. | Children can change books independently any day. Reading records are checked on a Friday. Children must bring their reading record books to school every day and aim to read a minimum of 5 times per week. |

Term 1 – Week commencing 14th October 2019 Term 3 -Week commencing 3rd February 2020 Term 5 – Further information will follow regarding KS1 SATs. However, they will take place throughout May 2020.
