About Me

I grew up in Cornwall, where my mum still lives and I often enjoy heading back to the coast for a holiday. Before attending university I travelled and worked in New Zealand. When I returned in 2007 I moved to Bristol to study Education and Psychology at UWE. I then worked as a Teaching Assistant for a few years before applying to begin teacher training. I began working at Redfield Edge in 2016 and am really enjoying teaching in Year 2.

I have recently got a crazy spaniel dog called Pippin so spend a lot of my free time out on long walks and enjoying the countryside. I also like going to festivals and watching live music.

Education Philosophy

I believe children should have the opportunity to engage with their learning through practical application where possible. Children should learn in an environment that feels safe, where mistakes are welcome as this is part of how children learn. Children are naturally curious, we need to develop their thinking and understanding through questioning, don’t just accept their answer, question ‘how’ and ‘why’.
